How to (REALLY) GET RID OF CREPEY BODY SKIN (4 KEY STEPS TO TAKE)

I roll my eyes when I see things like: “Use this cream and crepey skin will be gone!”

In most cases, this just is not true.

Crepey skin is aged, mature, dry, dehydrated and … well, old.

It needs to go. That is the only way you can really get rid of the crepe.

Yes, you can make it look better.

You can even reduce it a little over time by using a good hydrating cream.

But to really make a difference, you have to get rid of the problem.

No, I don’t mean a major chemical or laser resurfacing (although this would work, it would be painful, expensive and not necessary!)

So what does work to actually get rid of crepey skin on the body - arms, legs, feet?

First before I go into this simple, yet effective protocol you can do at home, I want to stress that this is focused on the body only. You can do this protocol on the face, but using a little different system. This is for the body only.

And, while it’s going to include some pricey items, it is also going to be FAR less expensive than in-office procedures. Plus you can do it at home in the comfort of your own bathroom and do it as often as needed. Once you have “good” so-to-speak, you are in command!

So, what does it take?

This is the complete regimen that I’ve found works really well. I’ve tried LOTS of crepe “erase” products, scrubs, exfoliators, creams, etc. and this is the one I have found the best results with for not only myself, but client who use it.

There are four key steps plus a couple of extras that I also love that work really well to keep it gone once you have reduced it.

Here are the four steps:

  1. REMOVE THE SKIN - ouch, that sounds painful, right? Nope. It’s just a matter of going deeper than a basic exfoliator, like a scrub or peel. You need a good physical exfoliation (chemical works, too, but physical is faster and works great for the body. I do prefer chemical for the face.)

Use a good exfoliation device, like the BODEX diamond microdermabrasion tool, weekly. This is going to create your base “canvas” to get rid of dead skin cells but also rejuvenate the skin and help it more readily accept serums. Use it once weekly and then follow with steps 2-4.

  2. REGENERATE THE SKIN - this is easily done with a powerful regenerative product like Neogenesis Recovery. This serum is really the gold standard for regeneration, however you can use any good peptide/stem cell-type serum. Just be sure it has mega actives and is not full of fillers! I think it’s better to ay a little more (sometimes) and get the real deal vs. trying to use a budget product that doesn’t really get results (things like Neogenesis, a good retinol and good peptides fall into this category.)

  3. HYDRATE and PROTECT - I love the Neogenesis Barrier Renewal cream at this point. This cream (it’s like a serum/cream, in my opinion) is something that will not only deeply hydrate, but it will protect the skin and maintain a barrier (like the name says) to keep in the hydration. A good deeply moisturizing cream will work, too. Again, be sure it is not full of fillers, water, etc. Use something with a very good ingredient label.

  4. RED LIGHT THERAPY - I have found that using red light therapy on the areas that you are intensely regenerating is like the cherry on top of the sundae. It will really help to tone, tighten, brighten/smooth the skin. The only caveat is that it takes time. While you will see almost immediate results from using the products in steps 1-3, this one will take commitment and some time. You should use a good LED device at least twice weekly (three times is better if you can) for about 6-8 weeks to see the best results.

There you have it! This is a great 4-step system that will get you good results and reduce the crepey skin (greatly) over a little time. You should see nearly instant results using a good exfoliation tool (diamond microdermabrasion is excellent in this capacity) plus a good serum and cream.

If you want even better results and you have the budget and commitment to do the work, then definitely add in two other items that area really good at maintaining the results and will help tighten and tone the areas even more. These are:

Bonus additions for even better results

    1. Microneedling - use either a good .25 mm pen ( the DN64 system is excellent and easy to use on the body as it will swivel in multiple directions and give you a great treatment quickly). But even more intense microneedling is perfect here and for that I like a microneedling pen, like DR. PEN. This is an excellent product you can use both on face and body and it will regenerate and tighten the skin very effectively. Read the review for this pen on amazon, and you’ll find it’s something that really works well. It’s your choice, but if you can use both, all the better.

    How to microneedle the body:

Use your microneedle pen only every 30 days. This is an intense treatment and the skin needs time to regenerate and develop the collagen. DO NOT USE IT MORE OFTEN. That will, quite literally, stop any collagen production in its tracks!

For a tool like a like microneedle roller or the DN64, you can use this weekly. You can apply the Neogenesis Recovery right after your treatment and use your moisture product.

    2. Crepey skin is often thinning skin. It can be very papery and even transluscent. In this case, there is nothing I like better to build the plumpness than the SCULPLLA products. Using the CAVIPLLA and the H2 STEM CELL mist is an excellent way to add a plump “layer” to truly create a more youthful look.

How to use SCULPLLA for the body:

Do the entire protocol for about 30-45 days. At this point, you should start seeing some good regeneration in the affected areas.

Now you can add the SCULPLLA products, if desired. Use them twice weekly on these areas. Don’t apply to your entire body, just the areas you are trying to rebuild (elbows, under arms, tops of feet, knees/leg area).

This is the complete regimen that I’ve found works really well. I’ve tried LOTS of crepe “erase” products, scrubs, exfoliators, creams, etc. and this is the one I have found the best results with for not only myself, but client who use it.

    3. Ultrasound - If you are looking for both instant and long-term results, the Time Master Pro Ultrasound device will help a lot! It can used on the arms, knees, hands with really good INSTANT results. It also has a LED function to add light therapy (red light for collagen boosting) as well as the deep ultrasound power to really regenerate the skin. Use twice weekly after a microneedling or in place of it for best results!
